• WVU HSC's Recycling Program- West Virginia University Robert C. Byrd Health Sciences Center in conjunction with the WVU Recycling Service has initiated a building wide recycling program.

  Participation in the program is easy!

  • Pick up a cardboard recycling bin from Surplus on the ground floor of HSC (G-278) between 7:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m.
  • Use the bin to collect recyclables; when the bin is full, carry it to the recycling station nearest you and sort the recyclables into the appropriate opening in the recycling bin.
  • Recycling bins will be located near the service elevators on HSC South, and near the elevators on HSC North. Existing recycling bins located near the food service areas will remain in their current location.
• The Active Shooter Awareness - Options for Consideration video was created to support training and exercise programs conducted by the Department of Homeland Security to raise awareness for the actions individuals should take in the case of an active shooter incident.

  • NIMS (National Incident Management System)
    
    The NIMS Training Program defines the national NIMS training program as it relates to the NIMS components of Preparedness, Communications and Information Management, Resource Management and Command and Management. It specifies NIC and stakeholder responsibilities and activities for developing, maintaining and sustaining NIMS training. The NIMS Training Program outlines responsibilities and activities that are consistent with the National Training Program, as mandated by the Post-Katrina Emergency Management Reform Act of 2006. This program integrates with FEMA training offered through the Emergency Management Institute (EMI) and United States Fire Administration (USFA).
