Laboratory Safety-HSC

The Safety Department at the Health Sciences Center works with over 300 laboratories to develop and implement the appropriate safety and chemical hygiene policies and practices. Safety Specialists perform yearly laboratory audits and inspections, maintain laboratory chemical inventories and assist laboratory personnel in the development of their Chemical Hygiene Plan. The HSC Safety Department works closely with Chemical Hygiene Officers, assigned by each department, to ensure that all laboratory personnel are properly trained in the rules and regulations governing safety in their workplace.
